Has any one ever been denied surgery by blue cross blue shield if so why. I ask because I will be submitting for approval soon and I want to be prepared

Hi...I have BCBS of IL. Yes I was denied the first submission. I had to go back to my primary MD and she had to send a letter explaining that my need for BP med and my need to start a new Cholesterol medication. She also went over my numerous failed attempts to keep the weight off after loosing over the years, the different type of diets I tried. I was approved after that.
