Open surgery (non-laproscopic)

Would like to hear from anyone who had an "open" surgery. My first procedure was aborted due to an enlarged liver. I have emailed the program coordinator to ask about an open surgery. I still have 30 lbs to lose to get to the weight they want me at for the second attempt!!
