Working out

Recommended Posts

Hello I was sleeved April 8th..still have some discomfort on one of my incisions..I've attempted to work out on two occasions and was in pain the next day. All I did was power walk on the treadmill. My question is when did y'all start working out? What did you start off with? I need to start the gym ASAP so that I can see better results

This is a great question! I joined a gym yesterday and decided to contact my surgeon's office to find out when it would be ok. They told me to wait 6-8 weeks before doing anything other than cardio. Light cardio would be ok after 2 weeks post op. They said when I do start working with weights to ease into it and to try not to do any contorted moves right away (yoga). If you do notice any pain at your incision sites to wait another week before exercising. I am five weeks post op and I will be starting with aqua aerobics and then at my eight week mark I will introduce weight machines. Every doctor is different on when they will tell you it is ok to start working out. I want to error on the side of caution where my incisions are concerned. Good luck to you!

started walking around the block 1 weeks after surgery. By week 3 I was starting pretty intense cardio sessions on the treadmill. ! month post op I started lifting weights in moderation weight wise. By about week 6 I was lifting heavy weights to failure with no restrictions workout or food wise.

Take it easy the first month... your body will tell you when its ready.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
