Dancing vs walking

I am a fairly modest person and I have no intention of walking around a public place (hospital) in one of those "gowns". I have packed several long loose gowns and 4 pair of micro fleece pj pants. My question is instead of walking laps around the hospital to remove the excess gas....can I dance????? Will dancing be too much on My system? will it obstruct my drains? will it actually work better than walking? What do you think?

tmbasuhre,

you stated that you "could not have danced until about 1 week post op" ...wow i intended on going back to work the day after i was released from the hospital....I teach kindergarten ......i might wanna reconsider

I'm a student, and I didn't feel that I could miss much class. I took the day of surgery off, the next 3 days, and then had Thanksgiving break. I missed 3 days of class total, and ended up having ~1.5 weeks off. I REALLY suggest giving yourself AT LEAST a week to recover at home. Don't push yourself and go back in a day or two. My surgeon suggests taking 4-5 weeks off, but I told him I had to do less and he said okay, if I thought I was up to it. My energy was still really low, but at least I wasn't taking meds anymore. It's a big change, and I was exhausted.
