Ditto - go elsewhere, find a dr. who supports your decision to try to beat the odds.

Both of my parents died young, both had hbp and diabetes and obesity. My dad had two strokes and my mother had other issues. Needless to say, the genes were not my friends. I am doing what I need to do to not repeat the cycle and to try to prevent my children from this battle as well.

Good luck!

Definitely girl, go talk to someone else... as sad as it is, there are all kinds of people INCLUDING doctors that don't have a clue what it is like being over weight. (even when they've study enough about it that they should know).
