I'm new to this group. This is my first post. :) I had my VSG done end of October last year and have lost a ton of weight. I started at 244 with the 2 week pre-op diet and I am now at 189. My problem is I've been having abdominal pain and diarrhea. The abdominal pain can be as bad a labor pains at times and can make me almost pass out. I'm not sure if this is the result of what I'm eating (or not eating since I feel like I'm not able to eat as much as I was a couple months ago, Protein that is), or is it something else? I was at the ER a few weeks ago and they did a CT scan which said intestinal wall thickening, so they put me on Flagyl antibiotic. I'm a nurse so I know this is not normal. Any ideas on what might be going on?

Melissa

Possibly galls stones. Have you been checked for those?

I'm sorry you're experiencing pain, if it is gallstones I can relate. The pain is brutal.

Congratulations on your success so far!

Nope. Had my gallbladder removed in 2011. Thank you for the encouragement though. :)

I had your symptoms and I had (& have again) c-diff. I was on IV antibiotics after surgery for a bacterial infection on one of my incisions. If you weren't on antibiotics after surgery you probly don't have c-diff. Might be worth checking if you were though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
