I'm not sure how much, but I take Nature's plus chewable iron with vitamin C and herbs. It has 27 mg of iron (150% of recommended daily amount) and 100 mg of vitamin c (167% of recommended daily amount). I bought them from vitacost, but I think you vpcan also buy them on amazon. Good luck. Oh, they taste great!!

And extra iron is needed for...?

I need around 80mg of iron a day in order to keep normal levels. I'm glad to hear that there are chew-able iron supplements out there! I will just have to chew a bunch of them, lol.
