Got my surgery Date - December bandster

I will be having my surgery on Friday, December 22nd! :)

Now I just have to tell my family. They won't be nearly as happy to hear this as all of you will be. I'm excited, but nervous too. So much for Christmas dinner... hehe. Turkey broth it is!! :hungry:

Your day will be here sooner than you think. I remember the waiting and being told I need to gain 10 more pounds, and God knows how many more health problems before they would consider me. DH and I decided we would pay for it ourselves. It is a large amount to come up with this time of year, but thank goodness my family understands that Health is the best gift. We are ready for the holidays, bring them on!

Dee:nervous

:update:

I had to reschedule my surgery for January 5th. Thanks for all the support. I will check in to see how you all are. I will be posting in the January group and also the Lower BMI group.

God Bless, Audree

Audree, I will miss you here, but hopefully we can still keep in touch! Take good care of yourself throguh the holidays so you are in even better shape for the surgery in January. xoxo

Keep in touch and let me know how your experience went with Dr. Ortiz. I wish I could have been there with you. I am still really bummed about it. You will do great!!!! Audree

I am 4 days out from surgery. Honestly they were tough days, but it is better today. I was lucky and never got the nausea and the gas was pretty easily dealt with. I was surprised by the chest discomfort but I kept taking the medication the first few days and ice helped. I found it hard to differentiate between hunger pain and post surgery discomfort. I am really understanding what everyone means when they talk about learning how to be at one with your new stomach. I am having trouble getting my protein and liquids like I should....but it is better everyday. As long as I can say that I am going in the right direction. My clinic goes with pureed mushies and accompaning protein powder right after surgery so that is where I am at for 3 weeks. I don't go back to work for a couple weeks and I am glad as I really need to put some things in place to make it work in the busy enviornment of my work place. I get so much reassurance from the posts of others who have made it through this portion of "the journey" and are doing well in lap band world. I wish all the December Lapbandsters luck and I'll be with you all the way.
