question for everyone, please answer

How many people go to a fill doctor that uses neither ultrasound or fluoroscopy to find the port and just relies on "feeling" for it. I am curious to know what is the general standard on this

my dr just relies on feeling for the thing...can be slightly uncomfortable while he is poking and prodding...but bearable.

Says it all. I'd like to find a doc who would do fills

using the fluro. I like the assurance that the darn thing

is in place.

Can you tell me what the fluoro is? I am new at this...surgery date was 11/21/06 and haven't had a fill yet. Please describe what happens with the fluoro.....

Flouro is the greatest thing. It is a u shaped tube that is Magnetic? Not sure. But it shows your insides in black and white. They make you drink the barium and they and YOU can watch the goo go down.

I like it bc it showed me how fast things move thru the band and everytime i get to see it is one more day that i havent screwed it up some how :huggie:

Today the doc did a blind poke, no flouro and turned on the flouro once he got it. He had to twist a little but I have a fussy port named Tino that i fight with. (it is rubbing alot on my rib cage)
