Pre Op Question!

Just wondering if the Dr puts me in a two week clear liquid diet, can I stick with chewing ice? I know it sounds weird but I'm addicted to Ice and was wondering if I can do the ice??? Thank you for reading :) oh nd also is it bad to chew on ice after surgery ??? Thank you once again :)

When I was in the hospital I was given crushed ice in those 1 oz cups and then the nurse filled them the rest with either water or diet Snapple.

The nurses told me eating ice was fine, but do not drink anything after surgery. Until they do the leak test. If you have a leak in your new stomach, the water can get into your body cavity and they'll have to put you in ICU.
