Ambien use post sleeve

Does anyone know if there is a liquid form of Ambien and if it is safe to take following surgery? I will talk to my doctor about this, but I just thought I would ask on here since I just thought of it. Has anyone taken anything for sleep following surgery besides Ambien? I stopped taking Ambien a few years ago and take Melatonin as well as an OTC sleep aid, but they don't work as well anymore. I figured it would be easier to find a liquid form of Ambien rather than an OTC medication. Thanks in advance for your help!
