Commonwealth of Virginia making me wait 12 mths. Ugh. I have 9 more to go. If you've been through it, how did you spend your time?

I have to do all of this before they will approve of me to have WLS.

My Insurance with my employer required 6 months of weight management and 8 days per month of an exercise program. During that time I slowly changed my eating habits, logged my food intake and saw the dietician once per month. I also joined the local YMCA and went to the gym 2-3 days per week. I started going to support group meetings pre-op as well. For me the weight management and exercise helped to make this lifetime commitment easier. I am 15 months post op and have lost 105 lbs. I continue to go to the gym 4-5 days a week and actually look for to exercise. I am able to eat most foods, but much less and I still continue to make healthy choices. I also continue to go to monthly support group meetings. This is a lifestyle change and with commitment you will be very successful with your weight loss. The time will go buy quicker than you realize!!!! Good luck on your journey.
