Let's say a pa has worked under a Dr for several years assisting with 2000 surgeries and has even done 500 of these surgeries on her own now how confident might you be to allow her to be hour Dr and perform this surgery even with main Dr being there in case an issue arises?

Everybody has to learn their jobs and be left alone eventually, right?

If someone has done 500 surgeries on their own it doesn't sound like they're still novices and learning. No matter who does it I would ask about rates and types of complications they've experienced. It's the same issues that you need to be comfortable with no matter who performs the surgery.

My husband is an PA. He works in the the local ER. He is awesome at what he does! Under the title of PA they can do most anything a Doctor can do,but they cannot preform surgeries .

Sorry I stand corrected!! Hubby just came home and said yes if the doctor "assists" the PA can do it!! I say if you feel good about it go for it
