Halitosis - anyone else?

I am just under 3 weeks out from surgery and have not been able to get rid of my horrible bad breath! I have a sour taste in my mouth all the time and my friends (god love them) told me today that my breath has been horrible the past couple of days. I have excellent oral hygene (I brush & floss) and have never had this problem before. I know ketosis can cause bad breath, but where I am on the liquid diet I am getting carbohydrates in my skim milk, tomato Soup, etc, so I'm not sure if the ketosis is it.

I was curious if anyone else has had this issue and what I can do to help it go away!

Thank you!!

Oh my gosh! My underarms smell like onions, even after just getting out of the shower! WHat is this?? Hormones? Fat burning? Also, I did notice that my urine was smelling much stronger, not to be gross, but almost like salmon! I apologize for being so graphic, but it did. I added some carbs the past couple of days and it is gone.

Oh thank God its not just me!! The urine thing I've had for like, the past 19 months, since banding! I actually put it down to eating alot of tuna LOL.. cause when I worked in nursing homes, I noticed that when the residents ate fish during the day, their urine smelt fishy at night *shrugs*.

Will try adding more carbs as you suggested.

Jess, I don't know if it was the carbs that made it go away. I was on soft proteins only when this happened and I was eating alot of salmon, lox with cream cheese and canned salmon, so I think that might have been it, but there were days when I didn't eat the salmon that the urine was strong. It did go away when I added carbs, but I wasn't really having ANY at the time, so I don't really know if that was the 'cure' or not. Good luck!

Oh god Jon, sorry to hear you're having problems with this too. My friends and I were just laughing about it the other day, since they were the ones who told me about it. I didn't catch on that they were rolling the windows down in the car. lol. Congrats on your band and best of luck!
