Liquid & Powder Protein.. Is It The Same?

I'm on my 10 day pre op diet and I'm suppose to have protein shakes twice a day in addition to other liquids. But.. my problem is... I don't care for the powder whey protein. I found a liquid protein its the new whey protein and I can mix it w water and add a little crystal light to it and its great.. so I was wondering if I could do that or if I needed the powder as well?? It has 42g of protein in it. I can't ask my dietician until tomorrow. Any advice is helpful..

I believe during the pre op phase you are suppose to use a meal replacement protein mix/drink.

This is to help you remain full and also to give you tons of needed vitamins.

It's after surgery you start the protein mix/shake that is not a meal replacement.

Hope this helps.

I'm typing on a new device so I'm sorry if my explaination is short :)

Best of luck!!

Thank u.. :-) I don't think the protein powder I use is for meal replacement its just the whey protein. That's all they said to use besides the other liquids I can have. And she said if I choose I could use ensure high protein but not regular ensure.. so I'm not sure really what I'm suppose to be drinking..lol.. guess ill make a phone call to the dietician tomorrow.

I bought the advocare meal replacement shakes for pre op..I bought them thru my surgeons office...they tasted great and filled me up.

Try gnc or vitamin shoppe...they can help you with the High protein meal replacements and also your whey isolate protein shakes for after surgery.

Remember before surgery/pre op you can use any protein type...after surgery use whey isolate!!

:))
