Fills

I don't understand what a fill is. I have not had the lapband but I am very interested in having it done. I am trying to get all of the information I can before making my decision. Thanks.

When you get the lapband, it is just usually the band. To inflate it to make it tighter you get saline put in your port that goes through your tubing and fills up your band therefore making it tighter. Hope this helps.

THanks, that helps alot. I noticed where you say you live. My brother in law and sister in law live in Marion, Ky. By the way, have you had the band? I am really serious about getting this done. I am very scared though.

When you are banded it takes about 6 weeks for your stomach to adjust to being constricted...then you can start getting "fills"...how much you get in your band differs from doctor to doctor and depends on what size your band is. Using the search feature on the site will help you find FAQ's and everyone here is very helpful...good luck in your decision.
