Cabbage Soup

My husband is making a cabbage soup with boiled cabbage, carrots, bell peppers, green onions and canned tomatoes. He also adds a couple beef bouillon cubes. I'm four days post op. Reckon it would be ok if I had some of the juice? This will be my first savory meal since surgery. I've only had popsicles, pudding, and jello. Can anyone recommend any cream soups as well?

Absolutely yes. I have tomato soup, Campbell's has a health to-go version in a cup. Also a creamy chicken one. I also puréed their bean and bacon and a can lasted 4 or 5 meals. I made homemade split pea soup with real potatoes and big hunks of ham and then threw it in the blender a cup at a time. Indie the same with homemade beef stew now that the doctor okayed the puréed foods because i have had no issues. They are all great. I do not have much of a sweet tooth either but I like the vanilla sugar free pudding at night. I do the pure protein 35 gram canned shake for breakfast to start the protein count off right. I was 11/2 and feel great. How about you?

Thanks! I was worried about the canned diced tomatoes having some sugar in them. I was sleeved on 11/7. I'm doing pretty good. Still having some discomfort with a deep stitch on the right side of my abdomen. It gets better everyday, though. I'm on clears and I can advance to fulls as tolerated until I go back to the doctor on the 20th. Then, hopefully purees! I'm still only able to take in about 2-3 ounces in a hours time so I'm having some difficulties getting all of my protein/ water down.
