I was all ready to go ahead and have the lap band and was scheduled for 10/17/12. Then I met with the dietian who went into lots of detail about the band restrictions. Although she said she's not allowed to support one procedure over the other, she explained the difference between the band and the sleeve.
What I found out was that the original surgeon I met with ONLY performs band surgery and was not in a position to discuss other options!
Now I have a November appointment with a surgeon who does perform the sleeve and he has dates open in November for the surgery!!!
It's quite a challenge to make these decisions....but so glad I've found this site.
Hoping to connect with other NOVEMBER sleevers and start this journey.
