Pre Op Diets?

I have seen some people have very different guidlines for the weeks prior to their op. I had to revert back to phase 1 south beach diet and it sucks! I have colitis and this diet makes me sick and i am in a lot of pain but tomorrow morning will be the last time I eat so its almost over. What does/did all of you have to do?

I had to drink 3 New Direction shakes, which were mixed with Water. I was allowed sugar-free popsicles, sugar-free Jello, but I tried to avoid them because of all the artificial sweeteners. I was allowed crystal light (too much artificial sweeteners causes me serious migraines). I drank decaff peppermint tea with Truvia and drank water.

That's it. I didn't like the taste of the shakes, they didn't mix well and I was lucky enough to be able to bring 2 boxes of the chocolate back to get the strawberry.

14 days and I didn't cheat. 5 weeks out from surgery come Monday and I'm still on Full liquids. (strict surgeon). Hopefully I start Purees then.
