How Much Liquid Per Hour

I am wondering how much is ok to drink in an hour? I try to get in 8 ounces an hour, but I am worried that its too much. I am getting about 40 ounces a day and I know its not enough, but do most of you just have a bottle of water attached to your hand at all times. I feel like all I do is drink all day long!

The first week, (after a couple days) I started trying to do 4 oz every 15 minutes instead of 1 oz every 15 minutes because I wanted to get the drinking done, and I was able to do it with no discomfort. It didn't hurt a thing. I have healed very very well and can tolerate anything to this day.

Now I try to get 20 oz down in an hour or two. I'm not a good drinker though. :P

My surgeon says I should get 8oz in per hr. But when I was just a few weeks out that was very hard for me and still is today and I am 8weeks out. I should be getting at least 40oz in today.
