Too expensive in States

I am an American living right now in the middle east Amman, jordan to be precise. I got my lap Band done in a first class hopsital by an American physician who worked for the Mayo Clinic, Lap band cost me only $6000. He charges 20 dollars for each visit for a fill in so I pay 40 bux a month. If I have to get it done through floro imaging it costs 70 bux! And I only did that twice within the past 3 months. My physician moved to Jordan because while working in the Mayo clinic he met the late King hussein while he was being treated for cancer. The late king liked him so much he personally paid for all his expenses and got him a top position at the hopsital. I mean I cant say more than enough about this dr he is ausumn. I was 280 when I got this done last may and now I am 200, and still losing weight. If you can afford to stay away from the states for 6 months to a year and see a beautiful historic country you have to come. I am loving it here, just going to the Dead Sea for a swim is more than enough for me!-Sarah A.

Sorry, I'm staying away from the middle east for now! I couldn't have afforded surgery in the states either and went to Mexico. Turns out it was a HUGE mistake. But thats not my point here. What I do want to say is that after talking to Dr Billy in Ventura California, he told me of how the surgery is quickly becomming more affordable here in the good old U.S of A. The BMI requirement is being revised and the overall surgery is much more affordable. I guess Drs here realize that they need to compete with Mexico etc. The big cost is Inamed charging an arm and leg for the stupid band. You know as well as I do that it probably costs them $3.50 in parts and labor.

Glad things are working out for you.

Christine
