Banded 3wks ago and No regrets!

Hi I'm 47, married at 41 and I work part-time and live in South Australia

I remember being age 13 and weighing in at 13 stone!! and it creeped up to far more than that until it peaked at 122kgs over the last few years. Cravings and hunger for foods usually high cal stuff were constant and nagging most of the till... that is until now. For the first time in my life I am satisfied and not feeling hungry and grazing for food!! WOW ..WHAT A RELIEF. Slowly but surely the weight is dropping already.

Thats because I attended a Lap Band Surgery seminar conducted by my Bariatric Surgeon and staff. I checked in at their clinic and was ‘banded’ 5th July 2006.

Its only early days yet but the support from your website is invaluable dealing with all the practical details of a new lifestyle

Your stories – the contemplating, recovering and progressing on your journeys has been great and very motivating too.

Thanks

Hi xx Lil xx

Congrats on going through with surgery recently . I bet you too are releived the early recovery phase is all but! I had burps wind and breathlessness - felt like a big baby for q awhile there!!

Hey Taz Girl -

the waiting seemed to be so hard even some months was more than long enough but being postponed must be a real test!! I do hope it happens for you when next date is scheduled.

Good to get your congrats Aussie Chick yours and the other replies was a real boost during the more difficult time of recovery.

Im going quite well and will give some stats when I have had next checkup with the Nurse etc.

Way to go Rosecheers and xx lil xx!!

I'm finding it hard to believe the stories about how rapidly hunger changes after the band - and hard to believe that it will work for me. Your eraly positive experience and success are very encouraging.

TazGirl - hope your next date sticks. I'm hoping for a date late Aug / early Sep.

Keep up the good work everyone!

awesome! Im in perth W.A and my lapband is scheduled 15th august.. only 13 days to go, I cant wait its costing me an arm and a leg but its worth the rest of my lifes happiness I think I will be a different person after this..

when i reach my goal I cant wait to hit up Target and get those nice bra sets they sell ..they only go up to size 14 pfffft ha ha Ill be asking if they have anything smaller then that... in your face to all those clothes companies that never made them in my size ha ha

As a new bandster I had my op on sat and am feeling really bloated and sore around my port area, breathless and pinching under my port side ribs, my right side feels fine but the port is really tender, how long will it be before i feel a bit better?

  • 1 year later...

tell me about the tummy tuck, how was that,I am considering it, however I am such a wimp. It has been 2 weeks since being banded and I am still uncomfortable.
