Please take this for what it is. I am a fast looser and was wondering if it possible to loose too fast? I am not bragging or anything, just wondering if I loose to fast, will I have problems. Like will I have baggier skin because I am not giving my skin time to recover etc. Thanks for the input.

soonerman...loosing fast will give you baggier skin. That's one of the disadvantages bandsters don't like about the GP surgeries, because losing slowly is easier on the skin and is a more natural weight loss. Also, gall bladder problems have been blamed on rapid weight loss. None of that is a medical fact, that I know of, just assumptions made by me from being on the boards for a while.

I'm not sure there's a bandster who would complain about rapid weight loss, though! You are doing great! And at some point, your loss will slow down. The first 50 is easier than the next 50. Again, not a medical fact that I know of...that's just what tends to happen.

And, in my opinion, the health risks of remaining obese are greater than the health risks of losing quickly, so you really can't lose, pardon the pun.

You have lost about 44% of your excess weight, if I'm doing my math correctly. In 2 1/2 months! Wow.

Exercise and firm up those muscles. That will help alot, I'm sure. Good job!!!!!!

I don't believe it makes a difference, not for a minute. It's kinda like saying if you let the air out of an over inflated balloon slooooowly it won't be as stretched out as if you let it out quickly. Either way you got yourself one stretched out balloon.

Banded weight loss is a kinder, gentler weight loss, though, and men burn it up! But the skin issue has everything to do with the amount of weight lost, the amount of time you were obese, your actual skin, heridity, age, environmental factors.....see what I'm saying? I lost 100something pounds with the band then lost 100 with the bypass and the skin issues are the same. They are not worse now since I had the bypass than when I lost it with the band.

Congrats on your weight loss! You are doing great! Either prepare for a fight with the insurance company or start saving your pennies to have that skin taken care of!

I agree with Rachele but also want to point out that time really does make a difference with skin. Losing 100 lbs in three months or a year will result in baggy skin, for sure, but two years later the amount of rebound will be the same. My point is that it doesn't matter in the long run how quickly the weight came off in the first place. If the skin is going to rebound, or not, it will happen to the same degree if you give it time.

I just had my first fill on Sat and my Dr. recommended that I take a bath brush and each time I shower I should spend time massaging my upper arms and legs to stimulate the blood flow. He said this should help keep down the amount of sagging as you're losing weight. I know in the "old days" I used a similar brushing technique to keep down the signs of cellulite, so it seems to make sense. I'm up to trying anything! I must admit, I've been doing this the last couple of days and although it's actually a little painful at first (I thought I'd end up with bruises!) my skin feels better. So, psychological or physical, I'm not sure, but it's worth a try!
