weight loss stall

Recommended Posts

Need some help and advice, I have 5 weeks post op. VGS. I have lost 31 pounds in the first three weeks after surgery. Most of that was probably Water weight that I was loaded with in the hospital. But since then (last two weeks) I have not lost a single pound. It seems that I have hit a stall of sorts. Did anyone out there have the same experience? I may be a scale watcher. Help frustrated and worried. Thanks

Don't be, do a search on stalls and you will see that you are not alone. A stall tends to last between 2-6 weeks depending. Mine lasted 4 weeks at 4 weeks. It's just your body acclimating itself to what you have done to it. Don't fret, the scale will move again. Start taking your measurments and see where you are going down there. You will be amazed. Its hard but try not to get on the scale as much during this period, its depressing and frustrating. BELEIVE ME! Not that I didn't do that to myself to be honest.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I feel much better , I guess I need to stay off the scale everyday. Thanks again. I at least now know that it is normal.

Nice to know I'm not alone. I got sleeved 8/15, I've lost 29lbs, but the last 2 weeks, I've really been stalled...the scale has barely moved & occasionally gone up a pound, then down. I was getting frustrated & wondering what I was doing wrong.....I think we're all so used to failure with weight loss, we automatically think it's our fault. I will be patient & TRY not to look at the scale every dayrolleyes.gif

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
