going for sleeve surgery

Hi I am a diabetic 46 years old and have tried all possible diets but even after reducing weight always gained weight especially my belly. I consulted my doctor and now planning to go for sleeve surgery. I want to know how effective it is and what are the effects or what i have to face befor and after surgery.
