Flying after surgery

I am flying from SoCal to Dallas for my surgery. Surgery is Monday 8/22 and I will be flying home on Friday 8/26. Anyone else fly so soon afterwards? Any words of advice?

Also, how swollen/uncomfortable is your abdomen at that stage? Are stretchy pants the best option for travel? Any advice about lugging a carry on that will be heavy due to the laptop? (Unfortunately NOT a Mac Air - if only!)

I am also flying from LA to Kuwait at the end of October - that's a long one - anyone have any advice about that?
