Yes, of course you can!! I would recommend going to www.mybariatricpantry.com and buying some samples of the Syntrax Nectar Protein powders. The samples come in 15 or so different flavors and you get 12 for like $13.99. I would also try costco. They have a Premier Protein chocolate drink that is super good and low in carbs w/30g of protein. I believe I paid $28. for a case of them. In regards to the protein bars... check the nutritional values very carefully. Some of them are extremely high in carbs! If the carbs are more than 4 times the amount of protein content, dont use them! The ratio should be 4:1. If it has 4g of protein, it shouldn't have anymore than 1g of carbs.

You know, I'm not really sure but I'm sure they do. I don't buy Protein bars because they are LOADED with carbs!! If you do buy them, make sure the protein to carb ratio is 4:1. If it has 4g of protein then it should have no more than 1g of carbs. This should really be a rule of thumb for ALL foods, but especially processed foods!

I have always used Myoplex Low-Carb bars. They come in double chocolate/cookies and cream/and some kind of apple flavor. You can get them at GNC. The impact carbs are very low in these and they taste the best. Ask the person working to help you find them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
