Surgery...

I was just curious has anyone in the group actually been sleeved yet? If so, I would love to know about your experience in the hospital and coming home? If not do you have a prospective date yet?

I am looking at having the surgery some time in July just depends on how long it take for my insurance to approve the surgery. My Doctors are putting me on a very intense 2 week pre-op diet I am only able to have a 4 protien shakes a day, Water and sugar free drinks NOTHING ELSE!!! There are actually 2 ladies at work who aren't overweight but are going to do it with me I love them to death for being so supportive!!!!

Hi Kayla!

Welcome. Yes I am sleeved. I have lost 43 pounds and I feel wonderful!!! I was sleeved on March 7 and by Dr.Jawad in Ocala Fl. My surgery was at Ocala Regional Medical Center. I had wonderful staff taking care of me there. Spent one night in the hospital. Following a negative leak test I was discharged to go home. I was out of work for two weeks. I could've went back sooner but I had to wait until I had my follow up with the surgeon. It has been a good experience. If you have any other questions I will try to answer them for you. You can email me or PM me.

Good luck on your journey, I wish you all the best!!!!! :D

That's awesome I was originally going to go see Dr. Jawad because I am going to be moving up close to Ocala but then I went to a seminar in Orlando with Dr. Wier and his staff and they are just really AMAZING!!!!!! I found out last night that the sleeve isn't going to be covered by my insurance so I am going to be going back to lapband surgery (this is what I had originally planned on) but I don't want to leave the group. I may not be having the same surgery as everyone else but it is still a life changing journey!
