Help!! My port side hurts so bad is this normal!?!

:help: I am still in TJ so Mrs. Ortiz picked me up and took me back to the clinic to have a doc check my port side. He said it appeared to be fine but it feels like I pulled a stitch or muscle.:think How long until this pain goes away??:faint: I also have shoulder pain but it is not bad compared to the port area pain (largest incision area) Is this normal??:phanvan

My port pain sucked for a whole 5 weeks. I had to put pressure up against it to do most activities.

I have a really high bed and had to use my son's step stool to get in and out of bed.

Just take it easy and be prepared to hurt for awhile.:sick

My port hurts too. I was thinking of binding mine to exercise too. It hurt just walking to my mailbox. Housecatgirl- feel better soon. I was able to leave this morning as I had my car at the clinic. My main issue is NAUSEA. ugh

For me it wasn't the port incision but the one straight up from it. I called my surgeon and he told me thats because that top (my left) incision is the one that they do most of the work in. Therefore they tunnel in more and you bruise more. I had to put pressure on that area anytime I moved in and out of bed or walked around alot. It took a good 5 weeks to go away.

:bananajump: Well, it was better last night. I was able to sleep on both sides, although it is actually more comfortable for some reason on the port side. It is still a sore area though especially when I stand up after sitting or lying down for awhile. 5-weeks huh...:rolleyes well hopefully not forever.:)

I thought they did the most work in the port incision:rolleyes I don't even really feel any of the other ones. I am so hungry though...can't wait til Weds.:hungry: Yogurt never sounded so good.:Banane20:
