I am going this morning to a pcp to start my 3 month required diet. I have fed bcbs. I am super excited!! My bmi now is about 47 or 48.... I know I can't get below 40 before surgery or my insurance wont cover me. I LOVE reading all the posts here and I love the pics even more. I can't wait to have an after pic!!

Congratulations Ashley! The time will pass faster than you think. In the meantime this is the best place ever to learn about the surgery and all the tricks and tips for living your life with it. I am having surgery next week and I am so much more informed than I ever would have been without the wonderful people who openly share their experiences here. Good luck and we will look forward to hearing how YOUR journey goes. :D

Awesome about your surgery!!! I have been reading everthing!! Also been watching you tube videos and reading on fb and my surgeons site. I have been getting myself mentally prepared and my husband is excited for me. I just purchased a Blender Bottle from ebay... Now time to start trying out different Protein to see what I like and what I dont.

OK So about the doc visit... He put me on 1500 cal and 10k steps per day. I just can lose about 30 pounds before I am in danger of my bmi getting too low for my ins.

Wish I could sleep for a whole month till time for my first visit with my surgeon!!!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
