Lasagne

Just a quick question! Has anyone here experienced any problems with pasta? I haven't tried it yet and it's on my list as foods that may be problematic (had problems with it when I was banded but that was with it not 'going down' very well). I seem to be able to tolerate most things now but I have made a lasagne for tea and am unsure as to whether or not to give it a go! Decisions, decisions....should I do it???

Pasta, rice, the body treats just like sugar, just another reason to avoid it. Okay, I am a little Dr. Oz crazed now, but that is what he said. This knowledge helps me to make better choices. Sugar and white flour, refined carbs only make you crave more carbs, so it's best to avoid them. I am guilty as the next person for tasting and trying them out..but my weight loss stalled big time and now I am paying the price by having to work harder to get this weight off, my advice is, don't do it! Learn from my mistake.

I hate to hear that these things stalled your loss. But, for me, I don't have those side effects from carbs. I don't know why I'm the opposite, and I still eat the "right" way. Protein first, veggies, and if I have any room two bites of potatoes/rice/pasta doesn't seem to have any negative effects on my loss nor do I get hungry faster or more hungry. I'm definitely not saying that it is ideal, and maybe I'm the exception to the rule.

I try to not eat them, but I don't like to deprive myself either.

Me too........LOVE pasta I could bask in it with all the varieties and especially home made .........so much you can do with pasta!! I strolled today through Uncle Giuseppe's an incredible Italian market here in town where I live and drooled as I walked up and down the isles. Pasta is what made me huge I'd eat pasta dishes until I could hardly breath, rest and then eat some more. Now I may be tempted to sink my teeth into a forkful of linguine or a cheesy ravioli, or tortellini but thanks to my sleeved tummy I won't be able to indulge ever again as I used to. For now I'm going to refrain until I reach goal or a little below goal. After that I will try to see if I can have a small amount now and then. How could I not? I'm Italian through and through!
