Has anyone unfill completely then started over

I had my surgery about 4 years ago I got down 80lbs from 312 lbs. I now stay around 255lbs. and I would like to get rid of the last 55 lbs. So my question is do you think it would be good to completely unfill for about a month or two then start over? Has anyone done it and had success?

  • that would be a good question for your Dr. I don't know why you couldn't do that.. I would ask him if you can do it under fluoro though just to make sure it's correct... that is the nice thing about

I agree with the fluoro... however, I don't know why you'd want an unfill. Seems like you should just go in and have your current fill tweaked.

I have had a complete unfill due to a slip and restitching of my band and plication. The process to get back to the green zone seemed like it took forever and I was really having to white-knuckle diet to keep from gaining more weight back than I did... eight pounds.

I've been back in the green zone for a couple of months now, but have just noticed my appetite and the amount I'm able to eat increasing, so I'm making an appt to go back in for a little fill myself!!

Thanks, I feel I'm at the point where another fill will be too tight so that's why I was thinking about the unfill, also whats Fluoro? I'm guessing something like an Xray? What would be the difference when people are too tight and they go and get a adjustment without a Fluoro? Thanks again for your replies...

I have a question I've got my band on the 20th I lost 20 pounds within 2 weeks I gain back for so far in my appetite is like I never had the surgery. But I'm scheduled to go for feel on the 25th so my question is once I get a feel with it cut my appetite again
