Fill question

:help: Hello All,

I have been on here a couple of months and I do not know how the port works. Ok they give you a needle for a fill. What stops the fluid from running back out of the port an into your body .:grouphug: ....

Seminole,

There's a tube that runs from the port to the band. When they inject saline into the port it runs through the tube and into the band to fill up the band. I have my fills done under xray so I drink barium and they adjust the fill amount until they see the barium coming through the band in the right amount.

The top of the port where they inject the saline is made similar to the top of a vial of insulin (or any kind of injectable medication). Once the needle is removed, the hole seals itself.
