Band removal Pre-op Diet

I'm curious If anyone can tell me, Did you have to go on a Pre-op Diet before having your band removed?...Yes, I know if it was an emergency that wasn't possible, but If for other reasons you've had it removed did you need to have to go on a diet?

    I was required to do 2 weeks of optifast. I started it but it didn't agree with me so they changed me to a low fat diet for 2 weeks prior. All the best with your removal. I had mine a couple of weeks ago and feel awesome.

    THANKS!! I found out, already as suspected that there's no need for a pre-op diet if the band is being removed. My Dr. is mindly insane.
