I'm 3 FULL weeks post op. I can eat soft foods like egg salad, tuna, and moist shredded chicken. But what about imitation crab meat. I LOVE it!

  • How about real crab meat! You can't eat much anyway so splurge!!

  • I would avoid it due to the fact it is highly processed and most kinds contain a lot of carb due to the additives to make it hold together. Check with your doc or NUT to see if it's ok. I was told

call the doc but I would think yes, no worse than chicken imho. But call doc or nutritionist and ask them...

It's on my ok list as long as it's mixed with something like mayo to make a mushie.

Check with your doc or NUT to see if it's ok. I was told to try and avoid processed foods and imitation crab is very processed.

I missed that it was imitation, I agree go with the real stuff, you can get it in with the canned tuna if you don't want fresh in the seafood case (or if your store doesn't have one). Imitation is usually crappy bottom feeder fish mixed with all kinds of weird chemicals and addititves.

Imitation crab meat comes from the Monk Fish.....I woulld eat it if you paid me,band or no band.....
