Horseback riding question?????

:help: Hi, I have a horse and I ride English. I don't ride too aggressively however I do trot and canter. I am also learning to do small jumps. I am planning to get banded at the end of June. How long before I can ride again? Will riding cause the band to slip? Any other horse riders out there that are banded? Thanks! Laura

Hi Laura, I took an 8 week western riding class 2 weeks after I was banded. The only problem I had was picking their feet. Oh, well the other problem I had was when I was dismounting once and ended up getting the front of my bra hung up on the saddle horn, but since you ride English, this shouldn't be a problem.

My surgeon was very amused when I asked if there was going to be any problmes with me riding.

I used to ride English years and years ago. My only advise would be the same as my doctor's no working out for at least 4 weeks. I would consider riding English a workout! Your body will tell you how much is too much but don't over do it and push yourself too hard.
