Did anyone make their own broth during the liquid phase?

I hate the taste of the canned broth in the market, so I was thinking of making my own.

  • I was banded first thing this morning so I made 2 big pots of stock - 1 beef, 1 chicken. Glad I did, just not so hungry right now.

Terry, Same here...My Doc recommended it... just lay off the salt and use fresh herbs to sesson. Salt will dehydrate which we dont need...I will make beef and chicken stock....let it cool and skim as much fat off as possible. Im going to add a little cyan pepper to ad some heat to my beef. Im going to freeze it in plastic ice cube trays, cover with plastic wrape with a tooth pick in each cube for easy removel that way I can heat up alittle at a time in the microwave...

I did

chicken backs and whole veggies so you can fish it out like turnip, carrots, celery parsnip and spices and of course water. Cook.

That way i controlled the salt and spices.
