Redness & Sweling

I got the lap band in Aug, 2012. I have never thrown up. No complications until the last couple of days. I have pain under my left side ribcage and there is a little swelling. There is a little redness too. Anyone had this before? I have been drinking the pineapple juice.

  • No fever. The pineapple juice will dissolve something if it's stuck. It has worked. I am fine.

Go see your doc asap! Swelling and pain on the left side can mean erosion or infection. Don't wait please this is not something to hesitate on. Keep us posted :)

Do you have a fever? It isn't impossible for it to be erosion, but unlikely. Could be you strained while exercising and pulled your port a bit? Call your doctor to be sure. If you have a fever, you could have an infection.

Why are you drinking pineapple juice?
