What Happened?

I was banded on 2/14/12 and had my 3rd fill on July 11th. I have been pretty tight since then and then all of a sudden on Monday I have been able to eat a lot and I just want to keep eating and really not getting the "full" feeling as I have since I've been banded. Can anyone tell me what happened or if it's normal?

First, stop looking for a full feeling. Don't expect the band to stop you from eating either. That isn't what the band is supposed to do. The only thing the band is supposed to do is keep you satisfied on less food for longer periods of time. Satisfied meaning not physically hungry- it has nothing do with being unable to overeat or feeling full.

However, it is normal for the band to feel looser as we lose weight. The reason being the fat around the stomach shrinks making the band looser and requiring additional fills. It's very normal and all part of the process.

Best wishes
