How Do You Eat Soup?

Soup (low calorie and low sodium Italian wedding soup) is my favorite lunch. How do you eat soup after getting banded? I am so confused since it has liquids AND solids!

Here's the thing about soup. We are not "really" supposed to eat foods (on a regular basis) that are liquid or with a lot of liquid such as soup because technically it is not "right" for the band. Soup goes right through the band so it doesn't "fill" you up. Chunky soup or soup with "meatballs" the theory is the liquid part helps wash the solid parts through your band so it would sort of be against the " no drinking with meals " rule.

I eat soup, not often but sometimes. I get full or satisfied but it doesn't stay with me long and I find myself hungry sooner than if I had had the "proper" protien and veggie meal.

If you want Italian Wedding soup, you should not have any problems enjoying an occassional bowl.

mmmmmmmmm sounds yummy!
