It's Offical, Its's Coming Out

I was having pain when I was eating yesterday. It was like a rock was in my stomach. I was only eating yogurt btw. Called the doctor right away and they had me come in of course. I did the barium swallow and everything seemed to be moving through ok. But the band was sitting at a weird angle. The doctor decided to do a complete decompression and she wants to remove it with in the next month. Now I have to decide if I want to just remove it, remove and have the gastric sleeve, or remove and have bypass.

  • Go for the sleeve! It has been easier for me since I had my band removed Monday and the sleeve done. Everyone at some point in their life will need the band removed. It was not meant to be left in any

My crapband is coming out on Tuesday and I'm having the gastric sleeve done.

  • Why do people keep saying this?!?! It IS meant to stay in for life.

High Lapband Failure rates!!!

The date on this seems to be 2001. Is that correct. If so, I'm certain there have been many advances and changes in the devices and how the procedures are being done.

Yes there are newer studies one from Sweden you just have to google them

The good news about there being more than one weight-loss surgery is that there is one that is right for each of us.

I am choosing the lap band because this was a drastic step as it is for me and I am not comfortable removing part of my stomach at the current time.

I feel like the band will keep me acountable since I will have to keep up with my surgeon for fills, etc. If I chose a different surgery and it doesn't work for me, I think my options will be more limited.

These are just my personal reasons, GOOD LUCK!
