I wanted to see if anyone has had a problem with the tube breaking or tearing. I had my lap band in 2007 and have done really well. I have lost 86 lbs so far. In 2008 I was in Lubbock and the wind caught the car door and slammed into my stomach with a great force. I knew immediately that there was a problem then and I understood why it broke. Now as of January 2012 I could tell the band was not working again. I went in February and had a fill because it had been a long time since I had one. I could still tell the band was not working. After going to the Doctor last week I found that I have another tear. This time there is no reason as I am an accountant I am not doing any strenuous work to make it tear. The Doctor said that it only happens 1% of the time. I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem and if anyone knows who the manufacturer of the tubing usually is for the lap band. It would depend on your band as to who made it. There are several. I have no suggestions for you. My port needed replaced a year after it was put in due to it flipping and breaking the stitches . This to was rare. No issues since the replacement .
