burps

After reading all about PBs, I was under the impression that this meant that your food comes back up because of overeating. But then I found out what PB stands for "productive burp". So I do burp a lot after eating. I know this is because I eat too fast. But if it is said that PBs are bad for you, does this count? Or are they just talking about your food coming all the way back up? Can burping too much cause damage, as well? I'm not new, so I should know this by now, I know:faint:. But my surgeon just cautioned me about vomiting and the damage that could cause, nothing about burping...

What folks are talking about is the one where food comes back up (PBing).

(hope farting doesn't cause damage) :guess

I have what I call "mini-series" burps, they are like little air bubbles that come up in a mini-series after I eat. Their not too loud or big, but they definitely are entertaining !!

O.K. After looking back at my post, I AM NUTS. Sorry, being an "airhead" today. That was a STUPID question. That's what happens when I analyze things too much. My brain needs a break...

No you were not being an airhead, and no it wasnt a stupid question. But! You might be NUTS! LOL Which is ok, cause that means you fit in with the rest of us! *hugs*

No darling, it wasn't a stupid question. I'm not so sure about the nuts part b/c I don't know you but I can relate to the brain break..... in jersey we call it a brain fart :biggrin1:

A brain fart...hmmm. I think you got something there. Man, do I do that a lot. Burps...if they don't come out my mouth, they end up in my brain. I guess I better let them come out, otherwise you might start seeing too many quacky posts from me. Thanks guys:)

Okay, it's not a stupid question because I still can't figure it out! :-) I am 4 weeks banded now and I have little episodes where it's like I'm gonna hiccup or burp and nothing comes out. But my chest heaves maybe once(does that make sense) and it kinda hurts a little. Is this a PB???? Nothing's ever come back up and I haven't vomited so I thought I was doing just fine. Do ya think I've PB'd and didn't know it? Wonder if these kind of little episodes will hurt the band??? I have lots of brain farts but I need help determining if I have Pb's! :-)

I think if nothing comes out it's not "productive" so not a PB - however those little episodes might indicate you need to slow down and chew some more...

It's odd how we can feel every little thing now... I guess we just weren't paying attention before!

:]

Iziksmom, I used to have those same heaves. I was told that was a sign of being full. I got those heaves on my first fills. Now into my 3rd fill I burp or hiccup.

I think that these are very good questions!!! I have often wondered about pb'ing my self. I think I had a mini pb once or maybe it was a slime? All I that happened was this slimy goo came up and.....well...nevermind...but nothing else came up.
