Crazy Cravings

I am 10 days post op and am down 17 pounds. I was down 17 pounds 4 days after surgery and have not lost anyhting since. so frustrating. I was doing well until yesterday when cravings hit like craze. I couldn't get my mind off food. Even though I was full, I would slowly eat soft foods just to be eating. I feel terrible this a.m., but I discouraged. Any advice?

I know how you feel...the first few weeks after surgery I fantasized about food like most people fantasize about, well, never mind. You get the idea. I was depressed and convinced that I had made a huge mistake and wanted to run back to the doctor to remove the band. It was kind of like detoxing from food for me, since I was such a food addict. It gets better, don't worry.

As for weight loss, don't worry about that right now. Your body is still recovering from the stress of surgery and not getting the calories it was used to. Focus on getting better, staying hydrated, and learning to eat with the band, and the weight loss will come. Keep on keepin' on!

I know the feeling well... I'm 7 days post op and still on the liquid diet.. i went to Costco's and walked through the food part and thought I was going to lose it! I have to keep myself under control but come Thanksgiving, I'll be eating turkey!

After my preop optifast diet and the postop liquids, I realised how much people talk about food! I was fantasising about every possible food I could eat, and people were constantly chatting to me and bringing up the topic of food! It drove me mental!
