what should I feel??? or know???

Had surgery 10/31/11. no real pain afterwards. hate protein shakes but trying to get in as much as possible. probably 40-50 grams a day.. Do not feel restriction at all. drink as I want, have to gulp the protein drinks to get them down, and doesn't bother me. take medicine no problems its like there is nothing there. is this normal. Have to say haven't been extremely hungry, but yesterday was rough. how many calories should I be getting while on liquid diet.. thanks in advanced.

I've had a similar experience. I was banded about 10 weeks ago, didn't have any pain, walked 2 miles the day after, I can eat and drink
as I always did, but don't have any hunger to speak of, the only protein drink I care for is Muscle Milk from Costco, and of course, some
hate it (I buy vanilla, it mixes with anything). I haven't had any fills yet, and probably won't if I don't have any hunger. My surgeon
said the way he pulled my stomach up, over the band caused the little sensors that cause hunger, to not be as sensitive, if that makes
any sense. On any diet, you should be getting 600 to800 grams of protein, and total calories is really up to your doctor, but 800 to
a thousand is probably scensible. I have quite a bit of information on caloric uptake, but it can be contradictory, so you have to take
bit and pieces and try to make sense of it.

My instructions say 60 to 80 grams of protein per day, not 600 to 800! I had surgery on 10/28/11 and I am still on the postop liquids. (I was on the same diet for two weeks before surgery too - protein shakes are getting very tiresome.)

I was on CLEAR liquids for 2 weeks after surgey. Now I am on milky and smoothie liquids.
