2 Weeks post band and gained 1 pound!

 Today marks two weeks after having my band put in. I lost 12 lbs. in the beginning because of the pre diet and liquids after. Then I weighed today and have gained a pound. I know I shouldnt be worried about the scales. But I never would have thought that I would gain weight while on the cream diet. I am drinking mostly Slim Fast so im really not taking in to many calories. Just wanted to see if this is common after surgery or am I doing something wrong. I dont mean to sound llike a child but I was very dissapointed that in one week I gained. Hopefully next week will be better. Any info on this is appreciated. Jennifer

You are normal, please don't worry. 12 pounds in pretty short order had to stop sometime, didn't it? (SlimFast, by the way, is not a great choice of Protein drink since it has so much sugar. Try to find kinds with more protein and less sugar for this phase. There are some great high-quality ones available at GNC and other places.)

Don't be alarmed but you may find your loss stalled completely and even reversing when you get on to mushy and then solid foods again. It's normal! Your body has been through something and is healing, your conserving your resources, and there's always a rebound effect to particularly rapid weight loss.

Take a deep breath and just concentrate on healing. You may have heard a little mantra that this is a marathon, not a sprint, and there are many steps yet to take.

Hi,

Completely normal. Ditto what Alex said except that would like to add that just fluctuations in Water intake, whether you pooped or not, could make the difference of 1-5 pounds on the scale.!!!

Thanks for the info. I will look into new drinks with less sugar. I will be starting my mushie diet on Monday. I will try and remember that I might gain a little at first. I think the real reason it bothered me is because I am starving. I will be happy to star next weeks diet. Jennifer
