How relevant is Lapband surgery information from 2004 in 2011? Haven't great advances been made in the past few years? I ask this as a patient

about to undergo Lapband surgery in a week or two. I've been reading these forums for a while an just wonder how much info and advice is and is not still

correct.

I think in the general, historical sense, it still applies. As regards specifics, I'd say to go with what your surgeon is telling you, since that's likely to be the most up to date information about the mechanics of things. From a practical User perspective, I'd think the daily things that are currently being posted here are good to have as real-world modern information. If you read enough posts, you'll soon get a feel for what is and isn't current information.

Thanks Dave, I thought as much. I was really just thinking out loud. You're just a year ahead of me and down that much! I hope to have as much success

as you've had.
