Good Afternoon!

It's overcast and raining here in Texas today, boy we need the rain so I won't gripe, but I sure would like it better if it was during the week!:biggrin1:

I feel like all I have done today is cook and eat! Breakfast, then I made a big pot of butternut squash soup (yum) and then I cooked up some crawfish cakes, then I put a roast in the oven. I have closed the kitchen till supper now!:P

Eileen - I hate it when I write something down on two different dates! I just know they think I am a looney! Glad to hear you have some restriction, I hope it stays that way for you. The last few weeks I feel like I really need a fill, I feel like I eat too much! It's going to have to wait for a while though.

Doc - Just be happy you have some restriction for now, when things get healed up sometimes it goes away. We have had a few people that didn't have to get fills for a long time though. I didn't have any trouble with salads, but maybe the carrots didn't get small enough for you. Or, maybe you just took a few bites too many. You'll get the hang of it, it really is trial and error.

Dianne - Glad you are home and beginning the healing up process. Now, tuck thee self in bed and rest up! You have put that body through enough right now!:scared:

Beanie - I envy you having a DH that cooks! That sounds yummy! Heck, if I put a 6 month deadline to my DH projects, nothing would get done, it takes him that long to think about it! Then there's the I'm fixin to!:(:):D I'm the impatient one, I like it all done yesterday! What kind of Indian on your Mom's side? Mine is Cherokee.

Howdy folks, Hope everyone is doing well.

It's dang chilly here..skip that...it's dang COLD here and we're expected to have snow in a short while. Today I've had my Slim Fast Low Carb shake at 7:30 some Water in between and just now at 2:19 I'm having chicken and dumpling soup (Pureed of course UGH) which is just too dang hot to eat....skip that....drink right now lol. I was able to get my hair dyed today thank God because it desparately needed it and then I dropped my puppy off at the doggie salon to be beautified :scared: She always comes back smelling so good she's my house freshener for a few days hahaha. Took a trip to Walmart and walked my butt off in there since I was alone. First time driving since I got my band. Let me just say, it wasn't very comfy but, I did it. It's really aggravating how it's just that one area that hurts and I don't feel a thing anywhere else. Oh well hopefully it will feel better next week.

I just got my new ID bracelet from Lauren's Hope. Wow is it pretty. It has pink Austrian crystals with pearls. Has anyone else gotten a Medical ID bracelet after being banded?

Well...going to surf the boards and then maybe take a nap. Ohhhh lordy it just started snowing :P Have a great day my friends!

:PHello Friends,

I finally have a moment to chat with y'all. The children are on visitation and I am ALONE..... it's wonderful. Friday night I decided to have a homemade milkshake for dinner, watch a chick-flick and then eat a TV dinner when I really got hungry.... just doin my own thing and unwinding from my week -- ohhhh, yeah!

This morning I garage saled and found a pair of tiny jeans (size 14) for one dollar. Bought them for the hope that one day I will fit them :noidea: and also got a glass refrigerator jar for the mixed milk that I make for the boys -- a 50cent bargain! I hit up 2 thrift stores and found a really cute flannel pajama top with gnomes all over it -- brand new! I gonna wear it later as I munch on my hawaiian pizza and watch a rented video -- oh, the timer went off and my pizza's done.

Hope everybody is having a great weekend :scared: time to watch my movie! Bye!

Hi gang,

I'm real crabby today...I'm itchy and I have a wierd red marks around the large incisions. Itchy on other places of my body..urgh..Sorry for grippin I'm just frustrated. Can I _itch more...On Monday in GM and DH are both flying out. DH is going to Puerto Rico for the WEEK....so they leave at 10:30 in the morning. THEN at 4:30 in the afternoon....HIS PARENTS ARE FLYING IN TO CHARLOTTE FROM FL!!! They live in Columbia SC which is 90 minutes from here. So they are planning on cocming here for the night and then on Tuesday on of the kids will drive them home. They are not like my GM they want to be entertained and FEED!! I'm so not in the mood!!!

OK enough...It is rainy here. Lucy the puppy still does have puppy breath and her new favorite place to nap is behind the toilet. She is so cute!

Sorry no personals today. I'm going to take some benadryl and hopefully stop itching. Have a good night sleep tight and stay warm.

I know I'm checking in late...we finished our gun course, then went to pick up DD at my dad's...I did really well on the range...got 238 points, with 250 being the highest, and 175 minimum to qualify. I added another thing to my things-I-said-I'd-never-do list, when the instructor said, "Cindy needs some 380 ammo." There's something I never thought I'd hear! It was weird. I'm proud of how I did...I was the only female in the course, and I was worried I'd hold everyone back or embarrass myself in some way.

Dianne, gee, I hope you stop itching! The Benadryl helped me when it happened to me...it was after my hysterectomy. It didn't happen with my lap band surgery...but yours was a bit more complicated, to say the least!

Sherry, good job getting out there and driving a little. It gets easier, and the port area is tender for a while. Mine still makes itself very known, if I eat too much I can feel the pressure there. Or, if I wear jeans that are too tight...by the end of the day, I can really feel it.

Beanie, good luck with your IKEA stuff! It's been so rainy, you picked a good weekend to stay indoors!

Betty, crawfish cakes! YUMMY! I think you have the best kitchen!

Kelly, I'm happy for you about your tax refund! Things just always have a way of working out.

Doc, I am soooo sorry about the PB! It's never happened to me, I only got close once. Please take it easy with some liquids for a couple of days, and let yourself continue to heal. It's easy to want to forge ahead, but do yourself a favor and chill. (Sometimes I talk like my students!)

Patty, garage sales are fun...can't wait until you can wear 14's! My DH loves gnomes, too!

Tomorrow is jam-packed, so if I don't check in tomorrow, I'll catch ya'll Monday!

Happy hugs to all, Cindy

Cindy are you practicing to come to NY ? GOOD SHOOTING WTG !!! little ol you.

Dianne, hope your feeling better soon.

Betty I hear ya on being able to eat to much. Hope you can get a fill soon.

Sherry glad to hear things are going okay..... how are you feeling? how was work?

Well I went to bed at 8:30 only to get a phone call that my MIL is in the hospital having emergency surgery. She can't hold down an ounce of Water so they can't do a CAT scan on her. They are not sure what the blockage is and why she keeps throwing up but the doctor said b/c she is so frail and there's just a long story behind her health that if they had to take part of her upper intestins that she mostlikely won't make it. She is 78 years old and such a sweet little lady. So here I sit while DH is at the hospital waiting for her to come out..poor little thing. Please say a prayer for Edna my friends.

Thanks !!!!! and as always I love you all.

 Eileen, I'm sending up a prayer for Edna and your DH and that he have travelling mercies to and from the hospital this evening. I'm also hoping for peace and comfort, please give us an update as soon as you are able.

Good Morning,

Thank you Patty, Edna did good in surgery last night. My DH came home at 1:30 am and said the surgeon was able to remove part of her intestins where the blockage was. She is so frail and fragile that he didn't think she would make it if they had to do that. He is going back there this morning to check up on her. I'll go see her tomorrow, she's not going to be up to seeing alot of people today. I mean she's only out of surgery 6 hrs or so. God is Good !!!

Other than that, nothing much is happening today, same old, same old.

Whats everyone doing today ?

Hi all. Happy Sunday : - )

Slept most of yesterday. Headache, nausea..... don't think it was band related, picked up bug or something. Feel a little better today!

DSD and grandkids coming over after church. Not a good beach day, windy and chilly. I am cooking them some steaks for dinner.

Eileen: I had my husband put your MIL on the prayer list at church. I hope you and DH are able to get some much needed rest.

Cindy: good for you for doing something on your "always wanted to" list. Guns don't offend me, just what some do with them! I think everyone should learn how to handle them. My DH took my boys to a safety/shooting class when they were around 11 so that if they ever came across one they would know what to do.

Diane: itching sucks! I didn't have that much, just some when I was healing. Hope it goes away fast.

Patty: I love your positve attitude about buying the jeans. That means YOU WILL fit in them soon! When I moved I had so many different sizes in my closet. gave everything away to goodwill..... Now I am starting over.

Sherry: what is the medical band thing? never heard of a banster getting a band... can you tell me about it?

Beanie: IKEA... I love that store. In Connecticut my DH and I used to go and just walk around. That took about 3 hours. I miss it, but heard they are going to build one here in florida... yahhooo!

Hey to everyone esle.....

Eileen, I am off to church right now...I will add your MIL to the prayer list...and of course, your family as well. My heart breaks for anyone who has to face a loved one's serious illness or hospitalization. I wisht here was more I could do. Thanks for the positive feedback on my gun course...I feel the same way you do, I think. Thought it might be a good idea for one of the good guys to have a little "equalization" plan!

Doc, have fun with the family today!

AFter church we have a skating party, then this evening a music concert at church, DD's choir is performing. It's gonna be another late night!

Love you all!

Cindy

Morning all,

Eileenie, hang in there baby! :bandit

I have been wanting to ask this question for a week or so...... Whats a WLS card? It was either Pat or Betty that produced one at a resturant :hungry: Does it allow you to purchase smaller portions? Hey, man, I want one of those! Oh, also need to know more about that bracelet thing. Is it a good thing to let emergency techs know we had WLS?

Today I got the cleaning bug and can finally see my counters -- woot! :scared: When I get a break I'll paint my nails and get pretty :drama: for the work week. The boys get home at about 5:30 tonite, then its back to reality.

See ya! :P

Eileen your family is in my thoughts and prayers for MIL to get well and feeling up to par soon.

Cindy, I think the gun thing is a great idea. I'm so afraid of them that it would probably do me good to take a lesson and learn all about them so that my fear would be gone. You go girl! What's next on that list?

Donna, The Medical ID bracelet I'm told is good to have because we have something different in our bodies that wouldn't otherwise be known to the EMT team that comes to get you :scared: Mine just says: Adjustable Gastric Band (Lap-Band) My surgeons name, Bariatric Centers name and number. My hubby thought it was a good idea incase they try to pump anything out of your stomach or scope you. I got one from Lauren's Hope that looks just like a regular bracelet but has the ID underneath your wrist. So most would only see the pretty part. It has pink Austrian crystals, pearls and dividers...very pretty. Now that I have it I can make more bracelet parts myself to match some outfits too heh heh.

Patty, I hope you're little one is feeling better and I hope you enjoyed your "mommy me" time. I don't get that very often so I do enjoy it when I do. So far so good for me with the shakes/protein drinks. Getting tired of all liquids but, I'm managing. Certainly surprising how long SF pudding lasts in your tummy and keeps you feeling full right now. Thats about the thickest food I'm allowed to eat right now.

Betty - Boy your cooking sounds so good. My hubby says I'm tortouring myself watching the food network so much hahaha. Actually I told him I'm preparing for my next "real" meals and i want to make sure since I won't be able to eat much that what I do eat is VERY tasty :P

Pat - How goes it? Are you rested after chasin the grandbabies?

Bene - Tacos? YUM! MY DH and DS went to taco bell the other night on our way to Staples. I made sure to drink my shake before we went. It wasn't too bad watching them eat them until I hear DH say mmmmmmmmm. I just looked at him and said "ya know, I can do this with out problems but, that's just not nice" His next bite..."Yuck that was gross" hahaha. My son felt terrible and said we can eat this at home mom so you don't have to sit there. I just explained to him I have it in my head that this is only for a short time and I'm better off following the rules my doc gave me. I'll get to eat the insides of that taco again :( Right now....I'm sooo wanting the top off of a slice of pizza hahaha. I guess I have in my head to stay away from the Carbs so I'm trying really hard to keep that though :)

Howdy dooo to everyone else. I hope all is going well for ya :D

Went to BJs to get more Water and some diet snapple for something different. Had a problem with some pureed Soup yesterday that didn't want to stay down....ohhhh boy did I pace the hallway! It worked though :D Won't be eating...scratch that, drinking that again hahah I'll stick with my shakes for now I think :bananadoggywow:

Hugs everyone!

Hey everyone!

I have been taking it easy today, my ears are driving me nuts! They hurt so bad, and I can't hear very well. I hope they are better tomorrow, I have a 10:00 interview!

Cindy - I used to hunt, so I can shoot a gun really good. I think it is a great thing to know today. You had some great scores!

Eileen - Sorry to hear about you MIL, keeping her in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Sherry - My cooking is probably what's holding on to those 8 pounds! That and no exercising lately!:) I watch the food network too, I like Paula's home cooking, 30 minutes, and a few of the others.

Patty - I hope your son is feeling lots better!

Doc - I hope you are feeling better too!

Dianne - Keep an eye on that redness, if it gets worse be sure and call the doctor.

Well, I am going to go lay back down, hello to all of you that haven't posted or I missed.

Later!

Good Evening

Good news, MIL's surgery went well, they took the intestins out where the blockage is. As of a few hours ago she was sitting up drinking gingerale  Thank you all so much for your prayers. I am a strong believer in prayer. Thank you thank you thank you !!!

Betty, hope your ears are better by tomorrow too. Good luck on your interview. My right ear is giving me problems the past few days, nagging pain but not so bad that I need a doctor yet. I have to be careful because I am hard of hearing and the last thing i need is more damage to the ear. Feel better. Paula Dean RULES !!!! she's my favorite.

Sherry sorry you had a rough time with the soup. Feel better !!

Patty, I think Pat has a card, not sure. But yes you can use it at restraunts and they will give you a break. I have a medical ID bracelet. I was told not to get the fancy ones b/c EMT's might not recognize it as a medical allert. Mine says "Gastric Lap-Band, No NG Tubing without Scope" and it has my doctors name and phone #.

Cindy do enjoy the skating and concert...sounds like a great time.

Doc, hope your feeling better soon. Enjoy the kids :)

Hugs to you all. Talk to you tomorrow.

Hi all.

I am going to share and then back to bed. I hope I am not hijacking your thread.

Sick Friday night (told you all that)

Felt horrible all day sat. not pbing or anything.

Sunday felt better. liquidy oatmal for breakfast. yogurt for lunch. tried to eat mushed up steak and mash taters...... NOT. spent 2 hours pbing. slept for awhile.

Spoke to Dr. and fellow banster. I have a lot of restriction. It is rare, but I am one of the few that my band is very tight 6 weeeks out.

PLAN:

liquids for 48 hours

mushies for 2 weeks.

Thanks for listening. going back to bed and hoping for a better day tomorrow.... I have an interview at 6 pm so I need to be on the ball.
