Vomiting Hell

My band has been too tight for the past month and I've pretty much thrown up everything I've put in my mouth...thus losing 22 lbs in 6 weeks. Two days ago I went in and had .25cc taken out of my band and still today I'm having trouble getting anything more than mushies down. They checked my band...no slip, no erosion, everything looked fine. My question is, can all this throwing up I'm doing cause problems in other areas like my esophagus or cause any hernias or ulcers? Things just aren't feeling right and even though I love the weight loss, I know losing that much that fast isn't very healthy. Any advice????

  • I had the same issue, I made an apointment and had some removed. You may need a little more taken out. You should do the liquid/mushie thing for a couple of days and see if the swelling goes down.

They don't have to take it all out. I had 0.3ml taken out and it made a HUGE difference. They will have you drink while removing Fluid and you can determine where it feels comfortable.

Hey, I went to the Doc yesterday and she pulled 1.4cc out of my band and had IMMEDIATE relief. I was actually able to drink, not sip, but drink a cup of Water. I have not thrown up anything since then, no nausa or anything. I know I was suppose to stick to mushy stuff but I ate food yesterday and it was wonderful. This is the best I have felt in a week... I lost a total of 7.6 pounds during my hell week and I will try to maintain the weight loss until I go back. I definitely do not want to gain but losing it that way certainly was not worth it.
