Can't stop eating before bed.... HELP!!

Hi everyone, I've been banded since 07 and I recently had a bad scare due to eating too late at night and waking up with night cough. Do you have any suggestions to keep me from eating at night? I tried drinking, but that came up at night too. Drs office said don't eat 3 hours before bed and no drink 2 hours before. I just get so hungry!

I have the same temptation at night. I suck on sugar free lemon drops. (or the sugar free mixed fruit ones) or I chew on sugar free gum (I like trident cinnamon flavor) I know these things don't take the hunger away but may take the edge off. Oh, also maybe try having a protein shake as the last "food" you eat for the day at your "cut off" time ?

Yes, chew gum! And brush your teeth as soon as you should be "done" eating for the night, the mintiness and squeaky teeth will keep you from wanting to get your mouth dirty again.

One other suggestion, at least for the short term, is to just go to bed earlier. I have done this out of desperation before and it worked well.

Sometimes it's just not feasible, but if it is a possibility for you, try it. Take a warm bath, get in your jammies and read a chapter of a book, and hit the hay by 9 or 10. More sleep helps with weight loss anyway.
